How we handle your data
Short and free of legal detours: what we process, why, and the say you have in it.
Who we are
Geekie Creative & IT, based in Krimpen aan den IJssel and registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42126518, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this statement. Questions? Email us at info@geekie.nl.
Contact form
When you fill in the contact form we process your name, email address, optionally your phone number and company name, and the contents of your message. We use these details solely to answer your enquiry and keep them no longer than needed for that purpose.
We use the service Resend to deliver email. Your details are never sold or shared for third-party marketing.
To keep out spam, we check every submission automatically, among other things with a short computation in your browser and a check that the domain of your email address exists. For this we may also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical data such as your IP address and browser characteristics to tell people from bots. No tracking or marketing cookies are set for this.
Business email
We sometimes email businesses for which we believe our services are relevant, such as a website, webshop, findability or automation. For this we only use a business email address that the company publishes on its own website, such as info@ or the address listed with a name on its team page. We do not guess addresses and do not buy address lists.
In doing so we process the company name, its website and the business email address, and, where they appear on the website, the name and role of the contact person. We also use public information from the website to tailor the message to the business. For each address we record on which website we found it and on what date. We find businesses through public sources such as search engines and OpenStreetMap.
We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in bringing our services to the attention of businesses for which they are relevant (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). A business receives no more than three messages from us. If you do not reply, we stop on our own.
To find businesses and write messages we use software, including an AI service (Claude by Anthropic) that processes the public company information. To check whether an email address exists we may use a verification service. We send the messages through our email provider TransIP. We do not sell or share this data.
Rather not receive email from us? Reply with "no thanks" or email info@geekie.nl. We stop immediately, including any follow-up messages, and record your address as unsubscribed so you will not hear from us later either. Want to know where and when we found your address, or want us to delete your data? Email us and we will take care of it.
We delete the data of businesses that do not reply no later than twelve months after our last message. We keep an unsubscribe for as long as needed to make sure we do not contact you again.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. Email info@geekie.nl to do so; we normally respond within one working day. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
We may update this statement when our website or services change. The current version is always available on this page.
